From the Mirador El Tepehuaje, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Sumidero Canyon, which is approximately 1,000 meters deep and 14 kilometers long. It is also possible to see the Grijalva River, which flows through the canyon. Visitors can take a boat tour of the river to see the canyon from a different perspective. Boat tours depart from the Chiapa de Corzo pier and operate daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

In addition to the canyon, visitors can also explore the nearby city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, which is approximately 15 kilometers from the park. The city is known for its colonial architecture, museums, and parks. The Parque de la Marimba is a popular attraction, featuring live marimba music and traditional dances. The park is open daily from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm and admission is free.
